Is there a maximum limit for storing text?
No. We have tested and use Quick Fill ET to store single entries of over 30,000 characters.
Is there any text that Quick Fill ET cant store?
We have tested Quick Fill ET on all types of text including code and special characters.
Text that uses symbol characters like Chinese and Arabic did not store correctly in our testing.
Can I store Images?
No Quick Fill ET is designed for text only.
Does Quick Fill ET retain text format i.e bold, underline etc?
No. All text format is removed when the text is stored although the text position is retained. If however, you use Quick Fill ET to insert text into a Word document, for example, the text will take on the Font style Size etc that you are using in that document.
Can I back-up my saved entries.
Yes there is a facility in the Settings where you can back-up and restore your entries.
What happens if I change my computer, Will I lose my text.
If you change you computer, firstly backup your text using the backup facility. In most cases the file will fit on to a floppy disc. Install Quick Fill ET onto the new computer, from your CD and restore your back-up. You should now have all your original text.
If I delete a text entry by mistake, can I get it back?
When you delete a text entry it is permanently removed. The only way to get this text back is to restore from a back-up if you have made one.
Can I alter a text entry after I have saved it?
Yes. All you need to do is open the text editor by clicking Add / Edit Lists and single click on that item. You can then change the text and the title of that text. Click the save button to store the changes.
How do I stop the Quick Fill ET screen when it starts?
You can stop the splash screen from showing every time you start Quick Fill ET by opening Settings. On the General tab you will see a check box that says "Show splash at start up" Make sure there is no tick in the box.
Can I change the order of and move the entries in my lists.
You can move entries from one list to another but cannot change where in the list they are displayed. All entries are displayed oldest first.
What happens If I select text and images to capture from a web site?
Quick Fill ET ET will copy and save all the text but ignore the images.
Should I store my credit card or bank details on Quick Fill ET?
We recommend that you don't store any sensitive information like this on Quick Fill ET.
How many events can I add to the timer?
There is no limit to the amount of entries you can have running at any one time.
When my timer activates why cant I see the web page I have entered?
This is usually because either there is no internet connection present or a fire wall is blocking Quick Fill from accessing the internet. Check there is an internet connection present and that your fire wall settings allow this program to access the internet.
Why did my timer end after the auction I entered?
Your computer clock may need correcting or aligning with the auction site you use. Ebay for example has a link on its home page to view the correct ebay time which all the auctions are aligned with.
Can I use the Event Timer with different Auction web sites?
You can use the Event timer with as many different sites as you like. The only consideration is that the auction sites use the same time as your computers clock. If you use a site in another time zone you will have to allow for this when entering the end date and time or change your computers clock to that time.
If I turn my computer off, will my entered times remain?
Your entered times will remain when your computer is off and will show the correct time left when your computer re-starts. Remember that the timer form need to be open either minimised or maximised to be able to alert you correctly.
I am getting a new computer and want to keep my Quick Fill saved text. Can I do this?
Yes. You need to back up your existing data to a CD, floppy disc or to the new computer via a network cable. You also will need to copy your Quick Fill ET setup file onto CD or directly to the new computer and double click it to run the setup program. From the new computer restore the backup file quickData.dod to the new installation of Quick Fill ET. Refer to the help file for more instructions.
